Tara Begay is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over two decades of experience in the Arizona healthcare landscape. A proud member of the Navajo Nation, Tara’s approach to medicine is deeply informed by her heritage and her parents’ journey from the reservation to the Greater Phoenix Area. This unique perspective—balancing the "two worlds" of urban opportunity and indigenous roots—drives her commitment to providing inclusive, high-quality care.
Tara’s clinical foundation is diverse and rigorous. She began her career in correctional health and acute care, serving as an RN in high-acuity environments like the Maricopa Integrated Health Systems (now Valleywise) Detention, Surgical/Trauma, and APCU units. Her career evolved with the digital age as she joined the Epic EHR build team, mastering the technical side of patient data and orders. Since 2015, Tara has specialized in Family Practice, spending years serving underserved communities at District Medical Group.
Today, Tara is fulfilling a career-long dream: leading a nurse practitioner-led medical office. Her practice is built on the belief that every patient deserves a provider who understands their circumstances and advocates for their health.
Outside the Clinic: Tara’s "why" is rooted in her family. As a mother of two sons, she credits her success to the unwavering support of her family, friends, and mentors.
